Meet natural-born super-star, Archie Horan!
You may know him as @archieHMcr on Instagram and YouTube, or a regular performer at our very own Robin Hood’s Got Talent. Today, we sit down with the star himself, as social media guru Caitlin Jones sits down with the talented Archie Horan for an exclusive Q&A.
He’s a man of MANY talents, with an incredible voice, awesome dancing skills, and not to mention he’s a natural on the guitar and piano. At just 10 years old, he’s performed on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Radio Manchester, and is set to perform at Prestatyn Rocks on Saturday 28th August 2021!
After recently discovering Archie and his family are holiday homeowners on Lyons Robin Hood Park, we of course jumped at the chance to meet our star guest, watch him channel his inner Robin Hood Ranger in Foresters Show Bar, and sit him down, like the true celebrity he is, for a one-to-one interview!
Tell us about yourself
“I’m 10 years old from Manchester. I really enjoy coming to Lyons Robin Hood every weekend, the entertainment is just fabulous, I love the mini-golf, and the new Dino Cars on-park are just fabulous too!”
At what age did you get into singing, dancing and playing instruments then, Archie Horan?
“Well, I’ve been into singing, dancing and entertainment since I was very little.. since I was born, to be honest. I learnt to play the guitar properly in lockdown. My grandad taught me and after I learnt a few chords, I went off and started to learn songs on my own and then I would go back to my Grandad for advice. Then I got a piano teacher to learn all my songs and I’m about to do my grade one exam!”
Was there anyone who inspired you to get into music and performing?
“I look up to The Beatles and I’ve always wanted to be a Robin Hood Ranger, so I look up to them as well. I look up to The Four Seasons, I am a big fan of Frankie Valli and I look up to quite a lot of people who have good hits performed all around the world.”
Who are Archie Horan’s favourite musicians?
“Ooo, I have two there! Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and The Beatles because of what my family listen to, they’ve got me into 60’s and 70’s music. I really enjoy that sort of music.”
What are your favourite songs to perform?
“Well, Counting Stars is one of them..” (Catch Archies amazing performance of catching stars on Lyons Robin Hood Facebook page!) “and The Beatles, Eight Days a Week. I do love Eight Days a Week. I love to perform Four Seasons, Sherry and Big Girls Don’t Cry too!”
So Archie Horan, if you could perform with any musician, who would it be?
“The Beatles!”
We’ve seen you’ve performed on BBC Strictly and BBC Radio Manchester, do you have any other exciting performances coming up?
The wonderful Archie Horan says: “Yes, I do! I’m going to Prestatyn Rocks. It’s really exciting I’ve been practising for a long time. I practice every day at home!”
