Talacre is one of the prettiest corners of the North Wales coast. A wide sandy beach sweeps round to the old Point of Ayr lighthouse, the dunes behind it are protected for their wildlife, and the views stretch out across the Dee Estuary towards the Wirral. It’s peaceful and unspoilt, and a firm favourite with walkers, dog owners and anyone who wants a proper break from the busy world.
Both of our Talacre parks are owners-only. Point of Ayr is in Talacre itself, a short walk from the beach and lighthouse, and Mounds sits just inland in the village of Gwespyr. Each has a 10½ month season, with new and used static caravans for sale.

Holiday homes available now at Point of Ayr and Mounds. Owners-only parks don't come up often, so if you see one you like, it's worth booking a viewing.
Why owners choose Talacre
It’s closer than most people expect. Talacre sits just off the coast road, a few minutes from the A55, so you’re roughly 35 minutes from Chester, under an hour from Liverpool and around an hour and a quarter from Manchester. For a lot of our owners that means more weekends away and less time in the car.
Life here is simple and outdoors. Walk the beach to the lighthouse, follow the Wales Coast Path along the estuary, or watch the seabirds over the dunes. Prestatyn’s shops and seafront are about ten minutes away, and Holywell, Chester and the rest of the coast are all within easy reach.

Owning a caravan in Talacre: costs and season
We’ll set out every cost clearly before you buy. There’s the holiday home itself, then an annual pitch fee that covers the upkeep of the park and its facilities, plus utilities and insurance. Pitch fees vary by park and by position, so ask us for the figure on the pitch you like.
Point of Ayr and Mounds both have a 10½ month season, so you can make the most of Talacre for most of the year.

Frequently asked questions
Things people often ask about static caravans for sale in Talacre.
Are there caravans for sale near Talacre beach?
Yes. Point of Ayr is in Talacre, a short walk from the beach, and Mounds is a couple of minutes away in Gwespyr. Both have holiday homes for sale, with new and used models available.
Are the Talacre parks owners-only?
They are. Point of Ayr and Mounds are both owners-only, so every holiday home is privately owned and there are no holiday hire guests. That’s a big part of why they feel so peaceful.
How long is the season in Talacre?
Both parks enjoy a 10½ month holiday season, running from 1st March to 10th January. Holiday homes are for holiday use only, so you’ll need a permanent residential address elsewhere.
Is Talacre good for dog owners?
Very. Both parks are pet friendly, and the beach, dunes and coast path give you miles of walks from the door. Parts of the dunes are protected for nesting birds at certain times of year, so just keep an eye on the local signs.
How far is Talacre from Chester?
Around 35 minutes by car in normal traffic. It’s one of our closest parks to Chester, Liverpool and the Wirral, which makes it a popular choice for regular weekend breaks.
