It’s The Final Week of I’m a Celeb As Producers Cut Series Short

Producers have decided that the final will be this Friday, December 4th, in a strange turn of events…

The new setting for the 2020 series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! has been a hit across the nation. Record-breaking numbers tuned in this year to watch 12 celebrities undergo the basic camp-life that we all know and love.

But with the weird year we’ve had, this year’s series saw the celebs enter fresh-faced not into the jungle…but into the Welsh countryside, at Gwrych Castle, Abergele.

Another twist in the 20-series-old-tale

The final will now air on a Friday! This is simply unheard of in the I’m a Celeb world, with the series always finishing on a Sunday evening.

But this year, producers have decided to cut the show short by three days. This means that the final episode of the most Welsh programme on prime time national television will be on Friday, December 4th, at 9 pm.

Campmates will now have less time to spend together. With the dreaded vote-offs already in full swing, tensions are getting high. Who will you be voting to keep in, with a view of becoming your Gwyrch Castle King or Queen?

Holly Arnold was the first to be eliminated on Friday with dismay. Ruthie Henshall was second to be voted off last night, only one evening after receiving her message from home. Surprisingly, Sir Mo Farah is no longer the favourite to win.

Bookies favourites for the final

Favourites now include Giovanna ‘G’ Fletcher, stand-in-mother of camp. Also, Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, who has won over the nation with his silly antics, heartwarming friendships – and of course, his visual performance on top of the cliff during the show’s premiere. But despite the many bugs, damp, and borderline panic attacks, we think the campmates have loved spending time in the mysterious, rustic and ancient Welsh castle.

Locals have also loved seeing the 19th-century fortress lit up at night, as well as the buzz and tourism it has brought to the region. The hillside ITV location is only two miles from our nearest Lyons Holiday Park – Lyons Kingsley, in Towyn.

Each on-air Welsh reference is entertaining. Whether that’s a difficult pronunciation, the Welsh dragon appearing in trials, or the beloved grumpy Ciosc Cledwyn. Whether you’re smugly laughing at the way Ant & Dec pronounce ‘Llandudno’ or rolling your eyes at the constant remarks of the gloomy wet weather, it’s hard not to smile inside.

One of the most popular shows of this year has been a celebration of Wales. Of its beautiful scenery, ancestry and wonderful quirks and traditions. We’ll be sad to see the back of it on Friday – will you?!
