Christmas lights switch-on events in Denbighshire

Rhyl High Street, Saturday, November 27th, 5.45pm
Jason Manford, the Northern comedian, will be switching on this seaside town’s seasonal lights in 2021! There’ll also be a 6ft Glowbot, face painting, Co-Creative performance company, balloon modelling, and a fireworks finale. Rhyl Pavillion Theatre Panto cast will also be attending as characters from Cinderella, with a Robbie Williams tribute and Gem Johnson. Christmas lights switch-on events in Conwy
The coast is calling all elves and believers this winter!
Rhos Promenade, Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay, Sunday, November 28th, 4.30pm
A special tree of light has been set up this year for locals to dedicate a light in memory of a loved one or in support of the work of St David’s Hospice’s dedicated team. This tree will then be lit on Sunday, November 28th at the big Colwyn Bay Christmas lights switch-on where you can bring the whole family to join in the magic.
Llandudno, Denbighshire Memorial Park & Crematorium, Wednesday, December 8th, 7pm
Ran in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, this year’s service will open with some poems, Christmas carols, and a five-minute reflective display of photographs of loved ones and their names. This special and moving service is a time to reflect, remember and think of those we love, before joining in the spirit of Christmas with some food and drink afterwards. This will also be live-streamed by Memoria, with details tbc. The event itself is free but donations to the wonderful cause of Macmillan are of course welcomed.

The island is set to be lit with Christmas cheer!
Swift Square Car Park, Holyhead, Saturday, November 27th
Holyhead Male Voice Choir, The Barton School of Dance, and the Lighting Loud disco and karaoke will kick off this coastal event at 3pm. Father Christmas will also be there to greet the kids before the lights go on at 5pm.

Where will you watch the festive wonder in Wrexham?
Bellevue Park, Wrexham, LL13 7LY, Friday, November 26th, 4pm
With an array of activities as well as brass bands, fairground rides, community choirs and more, this event is set to get anyone in the festive spirit! Open from 4-10pm and free to the public, this event is the perfect one for all the family.
Plas Coch Inn, Plas Coch Rd, LL11 2, Friday, November 26th, 6.55pm

Johnstown High Street, Friday, November 26th, 5.30pm
Expect hot food, mince pies, mulled wine as well as craft stalls at this splendid community event. Santa will be arriving on his sleigh at 6pm outside St Mary’s Church and will be welcoming little elves in his grotto throughout the evening.

Garth Pier, Bangor, Friday December 10th, 6pm
This family-friendly event is in aid of patients receiving care at local hospitals, and will run for three hours solid! Be there early for an illumination, music, entertainment, food, and a big Christmas light projection of your dedications.
Abersoch, Saturday & Sunday November 26-27th, TBC
There’s something big on the cards at this tourist hotspot this year – wait and see just what that will be! Organisers are promising this to be a weekend of festive fun for all the elves and helpers – more details to follow.
Christmas lights switch on-events in Flintshire

Holywell High Street, Friday, November 26th, 5pm
Set to be another cracking year with the support of Holywell Town Council is the magical Holywell Christmas lights switch-on! The town will be alive with Christmas music throughout the afternoon, as well as performances from local schools and community choir PhilsHarmonics. The town council have however decided to hold off on stalls, fairground rides and live entertainment to ensure everyone’s safety as we see through the pandemic. Flint High Street, Saturday, November 18th
If you’re keen to get into the festive feeling, why not head down to the historic market town of Flint where the Christmas lights are already in full glow! Holywell Town Band, Stage Gems and the Christmas float already visited the town on Friday, and the festive market was also a hit with locals and elves alike.
