1. Drive for a fiver

What: This once-in-a-lifetime experience involves driving a 66-year-old locomotive at one of North Wales’ busiest stations! Llangollen Railway, home to the Class 08 diesel, electric Shunter, is offering an Easter special experience where tourists can drive the train themselves for just £5.
2. Pond dipping
Where: Glascoed Nature Reserve, St Asaph

What: Free event for families and children – with chocolate included – hosted by the wonderful Groundwork North Wales organisation. Teams will explore the hidden world beneath natural ponds in the area, and find out more about the weird and wonderful creatures that lurk there.
3. Delve into history

What: Family-friendly Easter egg hunt which includes a trail map, pencil, and chocolate egg, plus plenty of fun with a bespoke trail and nature-inspired activities.
4. Tree’s company

5. Trebuchet firings
Where: Caernarfon Castle
When: Saturday, 16th April and Sunday, 17th April, 11am-3pm
How: Turn up on the day!
What: Hop, skip and jump into the coolest display this Easter at the epic Caernarfon Castle! Visitors can watch as the Red Dragon Archers and Red Dragon Garrison practice archery, display falconry, and test their trebuchets (Google it!)

7. Meander in the mines

What: Uncover the history of our prehistoric ancestors in this educational experience at the Great Orme Mines. Learn about mining activity, the Bronze Age Cavern and see for yourself how our ancestors made metal out of rocks!
8. Fly high with falconry
Where: Denbigh Castle
When: Saturday, 16th April and Sunday, 17th April, 10am-4pm
How: Hop along to Denbigh Castle this weekend
What: Fill your day with birds of prey at this wonderful family-friendly event at Denbigh Castle. Expect a display from the Albion Historical Falconry and learn more about the role that these historic birds played in medieval Wales, and take part in the Easter trail and medieval combat displays by the Princes’ Retinue Living History group.
9. Get clued up
Where: DangerPoint, Talacre, Holywell
When: Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm

What: DangerPoint is open for the Danger Detective Quest during local school holidays, where you can seek out everyday perils and collect clues to complete the Quest. Pick up an activity booklet that will guide you through the centre, with lots of different activities in it to complete your mission.
10. Celebrate Easter in style
