Touring & Camping To Go Ahead From This Weekend!

Share it!

Summer is (nearly) here and the nights are getting lighter! It’s time to pack up, pitch up, and let the good times flow.

There’s nothing quite like going back to basics, experiencing nature at it’s finest, and spending quality time with your loved ones without digital distractions. Well, we have some great news – Lyons St Mary’s Touring Park will be welcoming bookings from Friday, May 21st!

After the Welsh Government announced that non-self-contained accommodation can go ahead from Monday, April 17th, we’ve been working hard on ensuring the highest levels of health and safety are in place for customers to return to our touring caravan sites. So come on down for an authentic escape near the coast, where there’s plenty to do – or plenty not to do if you’re looking for the perfect spot to relax and unwind from the increasingly busy world.

Why has there been a delay for tourers and campers?

touring

Due to our diligence to the legislation outlined by the Welsh Government regarding self-contained accommodation, we were unable to open up our park for touring and camping until earlier this week. This is all to do with shared facilities, but the most recent announcement on May 17th included an easing of the restrictions surrounding this. You can find out more information by viewing the Welsh Government guidelines.

What systems will be in place?

Our team at Lyons St Mary’s is working hard to ensure life is as normal as possible – but there are some exceptions, of course. Here’s the lowdown on how things will work for the time being:

  • Toilet/washroom facilities will be open
  • These facilities will be shared with other guests, but we are doing everything possible to ensure the risk is kept to a minimum
  • This includes regular cleaning, so don’t be disappointed if the facilities are shut during specific parts of the day
  • Some cubicles/facilities will be unavailable to ensure social distancing requirements are met
  • Face masks must be worn inside these shared facilities (except when you’re showering, of course – how else could you sing?!)

Am I allowed to bring my tourer to the park?

Of course – touring caravans and motorhomes are increasingly popular, and here at Lyons St Mary’s, we’re keen to welcome back both familiar and new faces! If you would like to enquire about a seasonal touring pitch, please don’t hesitate to contact the park on 01745 855236 and a member of our team will be more than happy to help.

Here is the list of amenities we have to offer for tourer caravans:

  • Electric hook-ups
  • Chemical disposal
  • Freshwater available
  • Washing up stations
  • Warden/security
  • Grass pitches

What is there to do around Lyons St Mary’s Touring Park?

This beautiful park is located on the North Welsh coast, with sweeping views of the Dee Estuary and even Puffin Island on a clear day! There are plenty of things to do in the local area, including horse riding, fishing, walking, and the nearby Talacre Beach is also a must-visit for guests of all ages! The fantastic DangerPoint in Talacre offers a great day out for the kids, as well as Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay, Snowdonia National Park (approx. an hour’s drive away) and The Great Orme in Llandudno.

For those looking at more of a peaceful break, Lyons St Mary’s Tearooms on the park itself offer some delightful treats, snacks, and hot drinks to relax over. The park itself is situated in a rural setting, with plenty of trees for shade – and don’t forget about that wonderful ocean breeze!
