It’s the news splash we’ve all been waiting for – our swimming pool and gym are set to re-open this week! Find out all you need to know here…
Dive headfirst into summer at Lyons Holiday Parks! We’re thrilled to announce that our wonderful Splash Zone at Lyons Robin Hood will be re-opening for public and private use on June 22nd, 2021. After a very quiet year without you all, we’re over the moon to be welcoming back amateur swimmers, mini paddlers and avid fitness fanatics to our swimming pool and gym this week.
As you know, things will be a little different than usual as we do have to ensure all safety standards and measures are in place. Please do bear in mind that these have been implemented to keep you safe, in order for us all to enjoy a long, prosperous and super fun summer! Take a look at the sections below to find out exactly how things will run, and what you can do to keep you and your family safe while swimming.
Swimming pool availability & booking
In line with government guidelines regarding maximum capacity and track and trace, all sessions must be booked in advance. You can book a slot by turning up to the pool reception, which is open daily between 9am and 6pm. Please note that you must visit the reception itself, and bookings cannot be made over the phone. Please do not call the park’s main office reception, as the pool booking system is operated by a different department, and you will be advised to hang up, and visit the Splash Zone in person to arrange a booking.
Am I guaranteed a slot?
We are operating on a first-come, first-serve basis, therefore we cannot guarantee entry into the swimming or gym facilities at any given time. We all know how difficult this year has been, and as much as we want as many people as possible to enjoy our wonderful facilities, we must respect the current guidelines that are in place to protect yourself, your families, owners, other guests, and our teams.
Information about children
Under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult in the pool at all times. Non-swimmers under 14 (those who are not confident in the water) must be accompanied by an adult too. If there are a number of children in your group wishing to swim at once, we must highlight that the safety requirements are 1 adult per 2 children (any age up to 16.)
Lifeguards will be present at all times, but we kindly ask you to bear in mind that we are operating at a reduced capacity and within strict regulations, so please be vigilant of youngsters at all times and ensure your children understand the safety measures and restrictions.
How long are the sessions in the swimming pool?
In order to give our leisure teams ample opportunity to fully clean and disinfect all applicable surfaces and facilities in between users, sessions will be limited to 45 minutes.
What do I do when I turn up?
Please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to the time of your booking, and please ensure you turn up ‘swim-ready’ as there will be no changing or showering facilities open at present.
After checking in at reception for your allocated slot, you will then be directed by a member of our friendly team into the pool area. We hope you have a great swim and enjoy splashing around safely – especially after many months of sea swimming!
When your session is about the end, a member of our team will notify you with plenty of notice and we kindly ask that you vacate the pool area immediately. You will be made aware of the exit, so please collect whatever small items you have by the poolside (shoes, towels, hoodies etc.) and leave the premises when our team advise. This way, we can ensure the smooth running of the leisure facilities and offer the opportunity to as many people as possible, for as long as possible.
Will the changing rooms be open?
No, the changing rooms and showers will not be open. This is in line with Welsh Government guidelines, and any swimmers who do not adhere to these measures will be asked to vacate the premises immediately. While this is all about having fun and making memories, we must do our utmost to meet all hygiene and regulatory standards in order to safeguard individuals.
Swimming pool opening times
The swimming pool is open 7 days a week from 9am until 6pm for both holiday homeowners and holiday guests at Lyons Robin Hood.
More information about the gym (owners only)
No excuses now – our state-of-the-art gym will now be open for our wonderful owners to enjoy! The gym will be open from 9am-6pm every day of the week. You can book a slot by visiting the Splash Zone reception in person, which is open between 9am-6pm. Same-day bookings and bookings for the following day can be made if there is availability.
Owners who wish to use the gym facilities must turn up no more than 5 minutes before their session time starts wearing their gym attire. Sessions will last for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and we kindly ask that you leave in your gym attire as soon as your session has ended. Showers and changing rooms are not currently open under Welsh Government guidelines.
All gym users must complete a PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) before using our gym facilities.
Our gym, swimming pool, and Covid-19
Our teams have been working tirelessly to ensure the pool, gym and leisure facilities are up to an extremely high standard, which will be maintained at all times. All appropriate facilities and surfaces will be cleaned after each session, so please be patient if there is a slight delay – we are working as hard as we can!
To ensure these facilities are kept open and safe throughout the season, we require your utmost cooperation and vigilance. Please adhere to social-distancing measures both inside and outside the pool, and remember to wait outside in an orderly, distanced queue before our teams call you into the building prior to your session.
