Why you should spend the most wonderful time of the year surrounded by comfortable furnishings, beautiful scenery, with plenty of events and parties! Here’s what Christmas in a caravan looks like…
Christmas in a caravan: sounds strange right?! But everyone wants to feel the magic at Christmas – and what’s more magical than waking up in a cosy holiday home with a feature fire blazing, watching the snow falling over the nearby hills? It’s not just sizzling summer holidays we do at Lyons Holiday Parks, but year-round access to some of the most beautiful places in the country.
Ownership with Lyons means having your own home from home up to 52 weeks* of the year, where you’re free to visit anytime you want. This means you could be spending Christmas in a caravan, from a luxury lodge with 5* fittings to a comfortable and cosy family holiday home.
Which parks can I spend Christmas in a caravan?
As a fifth-generation family-run business, we know life is all about creating those magical moments with those we hold dear. The majority of our ownership parks run for 10.5 months of the year, meaning you can enjoy the delights of the North Welsh coast or country from March until the following January. The parks which offer a 10.5 month season include:
- Lyons Mounds, Gronant
- Lyons Lido Beach, Prestatyn
- Lyons Robin Hood, Rhyl
- Lyons Oakfield, Towyn
- Lyons Winkups, Towyn
- Lyons Pendyffryn Hall, Penmaenmawr
- Lyons Eryl Hall, St Asaph
We also have a selection of parks with a longer season, which includes:
- Lyons Woodlands Hall in Ruthin, offering an 11.5 month season
- Lyons Manor House Park in Cumbria which is open year-round
- St Mary’s Luxury Lodge Park in Gronant which boasts a 12 month season
Why spend Christmas in a caravan?
As promised, here are plenty of reasons to spend the festive period in your very own home-from-home:
1. Family time
For those lucky ones who have experienced a caravan holiday as a child, you know there’s nothing that helps generate family time more than being in each other’s company in a space like this. The sense of excitement we associate with holiday homes comes from the child within, and there’s nothing your kids will love more than snuggling up on Christmas Eve in a space that’s full of fun.
2. Cosy furnishings
The delightful range of holiday homes we have to offer at Lyons Holiday Parks means that you and your family will be warm and cosy as the Christmas bells chime! Most of our units are modern, well-equipped with extra features such as feature fireplaces and kitchen mod-cons, and come with central heating and double-glazing. You’ll also be at liberty to add soft furnishings that will make Christmas in your caravan extra festive, such as stockings above the fire, cushions, blankets, and of course, Christmas lights!
3. Community feeling
Christmas is a time we all come together, to appreciate what we have and celebrate our relationships with others. No one should be alone at Christmas, which is why we absolutely love the concept of many of our owners spending the festive period together in a community they know and love. This applies to people from all walks of life – whether you’re a family with kids who would love playing outside with other families on Christmas Day, retired or winding down in life and crave that community feel, or even a couple looking for a romantic retreat in the Clwydian hills.
4. Events and entertainment
There’s nothing quite like popping to your local on Christmas Day – and it’s better still when that bar is only a stone’s throw away on-park! Join in with the family fun at Lyons Robin Hood and Lyons Woodlands Hall where there’ll be some festive fizz to get you in the party mood, as well as some live entertainment in the evening. Spending Christmas in your caravan means you can enjoy a few Christmas spirits, then make it back to your cosy home-from-home without driving or calling taxis!
5. Christmas Dinner sorted
What’s more, Lyons Woodlands Hall and Lyons Robin Hood are offering a full Christmas Day feast! Take the pressure off yourself and treat the family to a multiple-course dinner in our authentic clubhouse complete with a log fire at Woodlands Hall, or in the family show bar at Lyons Robin Hood.
6. The best – and laziest! – Boxing Day
Films, chocolates, naps – all the things that don’t require getting up from your sofa! Our beautiful range of holiday homes offers the perfect place to chill on boxing day.
7. Wonderful winter walks
Tradition in your family to head out on a Christmas or Boxing Day stroll? With the beautiful North Wales coast on your doorstep, everyone in the family will be inspired to lace up their winter boots and make the most of the stunning landscape just outside the door. Lyons Manor House Park is the perfect place to enjoy a UK Winter break, with it’s sublime location in the lake district and stunning views of Solway Firth and Northern Fells..
8. Escape everyday life
If Christmas is a time you’ve planned to switch off from the everyday goings-on – you know, things you can’t ignore when you’re at home despite having your automated response on your emails – then escaping to the coast or country of North Wales or Cumbria is the perfect option for you. There’ll be nothing to do except switch that heating on, pour that tipple into your favourite glass, and find the comfiest place to put your feet up!
9. Stay until New Year’s Eve!
Treat yourself to a relaxing and rejuvenating break over the festive period and welcome in the new year from the comfort of your own home-from-home. Christmas will be so good, you won’t want to leave, and the beauty of it is that you won’t have to! We’ve got plenty of parties and sparkly events on the final day of the year to help you celebrate in style, all with the people you love and cherish.
10. Holidays for hounds
Craving a winter warmer break over Christmas, but worried about your four-legged best friend at home? No fear, bring them with you, as all of our parks are pet-friendly! Your pooch will love curling up on the sofa as you open gifts on Christmas Day, and will adore the long walks on the coast of North Wales or Allonby.
