2. Enjoy a pub and some grub
There’s nothing more wholesome than a long winter walk followed by a rewarding beverage (or two) in a cosy pub in front of a roaring fire. If there’s another thing North Wales doesn’t fall short of, on top of epic and outstanding scenery, it’s pubs! Fill up on heartwarming, quality food and enjoy a relaxing new years eve – North Wales style!
It comes as no surprise that holidays for hounds are the new latest trend. Find North Wales most paw-some pet-friendly pubs here.
3. Takeaway the new year in North Wales
Let’s try not to let the recent announcement from the Welsh Government regarding covid restrictions take away from all the new year fun. Although for many of us, it may mean plans with loved ones, parties and other festive activities can’t go ahead as planned, but let’s try to look at the perks… it gives you an excuse to have a cosy night in, snuggle up in your comfies and order from one of North Wales delicious takeaways. With a simple Google search, you’ll find endless takeaways from fish and chips, to pizza, to Chinese! There’s something to satisfy all tastebuds, that’s for sure.
4. First foot forward into 2022
Join the people, from near and afar, on the steady climb up Moel Famau to celebrate the coming of the new year. On a clear night, you may even be able to see fireworks from the surrounding areas in the distance! It may or may not sound like your cup of tea, but there must be a good reason why people make this venture an annual new years tradition of theirs.
Remember your large flasks of tea to warm your hands up and the top and don’t forget to wrap up warm.
5. Dance like nobody’s watching
Bring in the new year in style while dancing under the stars in the quaint village of Beddgelert! The beautiful secluded woodland and streamside location offer you the perfect opportunity to dance like nobody is watching.
6. Wish upon a star
Got any new year’s resolutions you’re desperate to fulfil? Pick your star and fill your boots with wishes! Scenic North Wales is one of the best places in the UK to stargaze at night due to the low light and low air pollution.
7. Dip your toes in adventure
North Wales boasts many beautiful lakes and while we fully advocate following the RNLI’s water safety guidelines when it comes to cold water swimming, the lakes and rivers are certainly there to be enjoyed year-round!
