Summer is still very much in full swing. We want to make sure you enjoy every last second of fun this summer including this August Bank holiday weekend! If you’re visiting North Wales this August Bank Holiday, you’re certainly in for a treat. Here, we’ve listed everything there is to do on this glorious long weekend.
From live music to the annual air show by the red arrows , North Wales has you covered for all-around entertainment whatever the weather!
1. Rhyl Air Show
This bank holiday weekend why not join the thousands of other eager spectators to see the annual Rhyl Air Show!
Its the town’s biggest free event of the summer and there will surely be something to peak your interest for all ages. With scheduled events from 2pm onwards on both Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th. Look up at the fiery red arrows as they swoop and sore across the bay or watch the battle of Britain memorial flight with Hurricane and Spitfire planes! Taking place along the Rhyl coastline this event is super close to a handful of our holiday parks! Including our flag ship park Lyons Robin Hood and family favourites Lyons Winkups and Oakfield !
2. Prestatyn Rocks
Looking for a day of family-friendly fun, good music and yummy snacks? then look no further than Prestatyn Rocks Family festival, near Lyons Lido Beach!
This year’s festivities will take place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August at Cookhouse Prestatyn car park. You can expect incredible live music, family entertainment, outdoor bars, BBQ & street food, kids rides & stalls!
This festival has always been about creating a sense of togetherness and highlighting the incredible talent and creativity within the community. Showcasing local talent with headline and supporting acts being local artists!
3. Dinosaur Adventure
At Manorafon Farm Park in Abergele, Only a short drive away from multiple Lyons parks, including family favourites Lyons Winkups and Robin Hood, This August Bank Holiday you can walk amongst life-like dinosaurs! Or complete the explorers trail, enjoy the ABRA-CA-DINO magic show and head to the T-rex enclosure.

4. Medieval Fun
Fancy taking a step back in time this August bank holiday ? Why not spend the day in a medieval castle, built it 1282 ?!
From Sunday the 27th of August to Monday the 28th of August Denbigh Castle is hosting all things medieval. Have a go at archery, watch a combat show, take a walk through the medieval camp or show off your creative flair with arts and crafts! This event is on from 10am to 4pm both days and there is no need to book tickets! So if you’re looking for a last minuet day of family fun then this one is for you!
5. Rock the Lake
Make this bank holiday weekend truly memorable at Rock the Lake festival, in Leeswood, Mold. With award winning tribute acts and live bands you can boogie the weekend away!
Sit down for great food and drinks on the stunning lake side, to take in the beauty of the area with the great atmosphere of the festival surrounding you! 6. Sunset Sessions
The Glynne Arms in Deeside is bringing back their hit summer series for this August bank holiday! From 4pm to 10pm on Saturday August 26th, enjoy live DJ sets from a range of DJs, Wood fired pizzas and food and great drinks including locally brewed and delicious! This event is ticketed but free! So if you’re looking for a chilled summer sunset night of live music and great food and drinks then book your tickets here!
7. Snowdon Kayaking
If you’re looking to get back to nature then why not hire a kayak and paddle around the beautiful Llyn Padarn lake next to the quaint village of Llanberis in the heart of Snowdonia!
With an experienced tour guide to take you to all the best spots in the area and guide you in your kayaking skills you’ll see mount Snowdon and endless beautiful views! There is also the option to end your adventure on a high with a wild swim in the refreshing waters of the lake.

8. Record Fair
The famous record fair is back in Llandudno for this Bank holiday on Saturday the 26th! Browse through hundreds of records and CDs and find classics for amazing prices! Held in the usual spot of St Johns Church from 10am to 5pm on Saturday.
Located in the centre of town you’re in the perfect spot to explore all that the seaside town of Llandudno has to offer, Browse the shops and cafes along the high street or take a walk along the pier and have a go on all the rides and stalls!
9. Pop up Bakery
On Saturday the 26th Rough Edge Bakehouse is having a pop up sale at the Y shed in Meliden!
After the overwhelming success of their last pop up event they are holding another sell out stall on Meliden. Starting at 11am and running until 2pm why not start your bank holiday weekend off right with a selection of baked treats and crunchy breads! Only a 10 minuet drive from Lyons Robin hood and a 12 minuet drive from Lyons Lido Beach!
