This October in North Wales we have a jam-packed month of events for Halloween half term on our parks and all over North Wales, ranging from spooky Halloween horrors to calming and crisp nature trails and walks that perfectly demonstrate the beauty of North Wales in the Autumn! 1. Pumpkin Fest – Manorafon Farm
This October, why not head down to Pumpkin-Fest at Manorafon farm! From picking your own pumpkin and then heading over to the carving tent to show off your creative flair. To discovering new for this year, the creepy critters, horrid hollows and keeping an eye out for the walk about characters!
After all this get yourself a snack from the street eats stalling offering hearty, hot comfort foods to warm you up! Such as loaded fries, Hot dogs and Mac n’ cheese, or even toasted marshmallows!
If you prefer to pick your pumpkins under the light of the moon, then there is Pumpkin Fest Nights! Pick your pumpkins under the twinkling lights and the night sky to then find the cosy shelter with heating, street food and live music. Plus, much more! 2. Halloween Fun Run – Porth Eirias Colwyn Bay
On Saturday why not spend the crisp autumn morning at Colwyn Bay’s Halloween Fun Run?! It’s a fun and friendly run for kids across the North Wales coastal path. It’s a quick 1K route on mostly flat ground allowing you to take in the morning views or the surrounding beaches.
Complete the Fun run and receive a medal at the end to commemorate the achievement!
You are encouraged to find the ‘fun in the run’ by dressing up in your funkiest and mast wacky or spooky Halloween costumes!

3. Zip Word Ffear Fforest
The Zip World Ffear Fforest is back at their Betws Y Coed site in North Wales! If you’re brave enough for a night of spine shivering shocks and scares, then book your tickets for a night at Ffear Fforest.
Take a ride on the cursed coaster or scramble about on the nets in the trees but watch out for the clowns that lurk in the shadows of the forest! 4. Autumn Walks
October is the perfect time to get out and explore all that North Wales has to offer! With endless paths and trails to walk, whether you are looking for a casual stroll through the woodlands or a brisk hike into the mountains or anything in between we have you covered. Here are just a couple of walks we would recommend.
Aberfalls : Walk to this beautiful waterfall through Coedydd Aber with views on higher ground of Anglesey and the Menai Strait. This walk is a brisk 4 miles with car parking available at the start of the trail in Abergwyngregyn. All your walking will be worth it when you reach the stunning waterfall! This stunning walk is only a 25 minute drive from Lyons Pendyffryn Hall
Moel Famau: Moel Famau is a family friendly hike stretching out over 3.5 miles. Feel a real sence of achievement when you reach the top of the highest hill in the Clwydian Range. Situated on the border of Flintshire and Denbighshire. With several signposted routes to the top, you’ll be able to take in the views of the vast Welsh countryside in the Autumn sunshine (hopefully!) Only 20 minutes from one of our park in Ruthin; Woodlands Hall.
Llyn Padarn Circular route: Head over to the Hiking village of Llanberis in Snowdonia and take a walk around the famous Llyn Padarn lake, with a walk time of around 2 hours this family friendly walk will take you woodland areas and across streams, up to higher ground, giving you amazing views of the lake and mountains! Llyn Padarn Lake is only a short walk from our mountain touring and camping spot in Lyons Snowdon View

5. A little Magic Halloween Monster Mash
On the 29th of October, Rhuddlan Community Centre is playing host to the best Kids Halloween bash in town! Dress in your best spooky costumes and bring your capes and fangs for the Monster mash!

6. Halloween Feast – Nos Galan Gaeaf
Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is hosting a Halloween celebration like no other! On October the 28th they will be hosting a traditional celebration of food and fire to honour one of the three great spirit nights (ysbrydynos) of the year!

7. Gwrych Castle Escape Alive
