It’s that time of year again where we’re awakening our caravans for another season after their winter hibernation. As the new season approaches, its time to breathe new life into your caravan and ready it up for a spring break at Lyons. Here’s some top tips to get you started:
Inspect the exterior for wear and tear
This is a great time to inspect the exterior of your caravan for any signs of wear and tear, including any signs of cracks and leaks. It’s also a great time to give your caravan a good spring clean inside and out, removing any dirt that’s accumulated over the winter months. This may also be a great time for a change up! Treat yourself to an upgrade this season without breaking the bank! Find out more here:
Check the drinking water system
It’s essential that you check your drinking water after your caravan has not been used in a while. Check that all plumbing is working properly before drinking. It is also a good idea to test the water quality before drinking, as stagnant water which has been left in the system can grow bacteria.
Inspect other additional heating and plumbing systems
Once you’ve checked the drinking water system, it may be useful to check that there are no leaks, especially in areas that may have been susceptible to freezing temperatures over winter. Run taps and flush toilets to test if they are functioning correctly before first use.
Stock up on essentials
The start of the new season is just starting, so it’s a great time to take inventory of your kitchen essentials, replacing any if necessary and stocking up your cupboards. This will keep you prepared during any adventures that you have planned during your stay.
