Whether you’re a seasoned camper or embarking on your first camping trip, preparation is key to a successful experience and we’ve got the best camping gadgets for you!
One of the best places to go camping is North Wales. From Snowdonia’s rugged mountains to the stunning North Wales coastline, there’re lots to explore from scenic hiking tails to ancient Welsh castles.
The essentials
Choosing your tent is one of the most important elements of camping. Invest in a durable, weather-resistant tent that accommodates your group. Next, is equipment to sleep in. Choose a sleeping bag that’s rated for the temperature range which is expected. For example, the average overnight yearly temperature at Tyddyn Goronwy camping ground is 9°c but be colder in the autumnal months.
Good cooking equipment is also important, as well as reliable lighting sources such as headlamps and torches. Make sure to also stay hydrated with lots of drinking water. Luckily on all of our parks, there are plenty of facilities. If you’re camping in a more remote area, then a LifeStraw or other water filtration system can also be useful gadgets to bring along.
Other essentials that may be useful could be a first aid kit, dry layers, portable chargers, bin bags, pocket knife, bug spray and a re-usable water bottle.
Cool Camping Gadgets
As well as the essentials, there’s no harm in bringing along some cool gadgets to make your trip as fun as possible! Fancy some cosy film nights under the stars? Then a portable projector might be the gadget for you. When the lights go out, glow in the dark guy lines may also be useful when walking around after dark.
Enjoy waking up with ease to serene coastal views at St Mary’s touring park with a camp stove toaster to fuel your body or take a seat at our tea-rooms for some brunch! As standard, all of our camping and touring parks come with spacious shower blocks to re-fresh yourself for the adventures ahead. If you’re in a more remote area, it may be worth using a pocket shower to get ready for the day. Staying off the beaten track? Then a GPS watch or survival bracelet may also be cool gadgets to invest in.
Just for fun
As well as the essentials and cool gadgets, there’s always room for more fun! Bring along a pack of marshmallows and sticks to toast or enjoy the sound of music around a bonfire with a portable Bluetooth speaker. With the kids? Why not bring along some outdoor games or a hammock to relax in.
