Woodlands Retreat

Woodlands Retreat, a delightful, detached holiday home rests upon the semi-rural Lyons Woodlands Hall Caravan Park in Llanfwrog near Ruthin, Denbighshire.

Surrounded by lush, countryside views, this charming abode is the perfect spot to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing holiday with friends and family, offering eight guests a well-equipped base with a range of on-site facilities.

Park up, unload your belongings and cross the threshold into Woodlands Retreat, arriving to a bright and airy atmosphere.

The living/dining room is the perfect place to relax and admire views out to the garden, complete with an electric fire ideal for lighting on cooler evenings.

If you feel like staying in and cooking, the kitchen/diner is well-equipped, or head to the on-site bar and restaurant to dine out.

Spend your evenings soaking up the last of the sunshine in the rear, woodland garden, enjoying views of the Welsh Mountain Range, where you can dine alfresco, light the barbecue, and enjoy a dip in the private hot tub.When it’s time to rest, retreat to one of the four bedrooms, choosing from a king-size with en-suite walk-in shower, a double, a ground-floor double, and a twin.

Freshen up in the bathroom before enjoying a morning coffee in the conservatory, looking out onto the park.With access to a range of on-site facilities, including a gym, sauna, tennis courts, an enclosed dog walking park, and an indoor, heated swimming pool, you can really make the most of your stay.

The Farmhouse

Welcome to our remarkable stone-built country farmhouse, aptly named The Farmhouse. Boasting delightful views of the Cardigan Bay and Mountains of Snowdonia, this grand farmhouse is in the quaint coastal village of Tal y Bont, just outside of the infamous seaside resort of Barmouth.  With a plethora of activities and attractions to do nearby, our extensively refurbished farm house is the perfect way to enjoy the best of staycations.  

A mere 10-minute stroll from the Rural Beach Award-winning beach, this charming retreat features six inviting bedrooms, two of which include en-suites, alongside a corner spa bath and spacious showers. With two cosy sitting rooms adorned with woodburners and a modern kitchen, this cottage strikes the perfect balance between traditional charm and contemporary comfort.

Guests can enjoy shared seasonal access to a heated indoor swimming pool nearby, while the cottage’s expansive garden with a patio provides a tranquil space to unwind. Serving as an excellent base to explore the renowned coastline and breathtaking countryside, this impressive Barmouth cottage offers an array of activities including hill and coastal walks, thrilling watersports, golfing adventures, visits to the medieval Harlech castle, and the stunning Snowdonia mountains.

The Barn

Welcome to The Barn, The latest luxury holiday cottage added to the Lyons collection. Our  picturesque detached barn conversion sits within our holiday park; Tyddyn Goronwy which gives you access to the many on park facilities available. 

Step inside this welcoming abode, where the layout cleverly places the bedrooms downstairs for utmost cosiness, while the living space awaits you upstairs. As you enter, be greeted by an inviting entrance hallway adorned with a soaring double-height ceiling, an open oak staircase, and ample natural light filtering through the glazing.

The bedrooms on this level are each equipped with wall-mounted Smart TVs and generous storage space. You’ll also find a double room, single room and a master king-size bedroom with zip/link beds – so whether you want a twin room or a kingsize double – the choice is yours! You’ll also benefit from a spacious bathroom with a bathtub and shower as well as another single toilet room. 

Venture upstairs to the expansive living area boasting high ceilings, exposed A-frame beams, and a cosy sitting area furnished with two sofas facing a Smart TV, complemented by an electric woodburning effect stove. Nearby, engage in some entertainment with the pool table or gather around the large dining table for enjoyable mealtimes.

The well-appointed kitchen awaits your culinary endeavors, furnished with modern appliances including an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. Outside, a charming patio area with furniture and a barbecue sets the scene for delightful evenings, while a hot tub invites you for a luxurious soak under the starry skies.

Don’t forget to pack your swimming gear as an indoor heated pool awaits in the owner’s nearby caravan park for added enjoyment. The village of Tal-Y-Bont offers a rich history, an annual agricultural show, and picturesque walking routes. Cornel Glyd

Step inside to find a welcoming space adorned with oak ledge and brace doors, high ceilings, and rustic beams. Every detail, from the elegant curtains to the stylish bedside lamps and coordinated kitchen utensils, has been thoughtfully selected to ensure your comfort.

The spacious sitting room invites relaxation with its cozy seating, while the adjacent dining area sets the scene for cherished family meals. The well-equipped kitchen is ready for any culinary adventure, and the marbled bathroom upholds the high standards of this beautifully converted barn.

As you retire to the bedrooms, the master beckons with its king-size bed nestled among whitewashed stone walls and original timber beams. Meanwhile, the equally stylish second bedroom, complete with twin beds, offers a perfect retreat for children.

Bwythyn Bach

Step into the homely cottage of Bwthyn Bach, a breath-taking barn conversion that exudes excellence in every detail. From the carefully curated lighting, cosy underfloor heating, and harmonious colour scheme to the soft furnishings and luxurious fabrics, this one-bedroom haven sets a new standard.

The high vaulted ceilings adorned with beams create an airy, grand atmosphere within the open-plan living space. A meticulously designed kitchen caters to your every culinary need, while the intimate dining area sets the stage for romantic evenings for two.

Prepare for a restful night’s sleep in the beautiful bedroom, complete with a king-size bed adorned with sumptuous bedding. The en-suite shower room, boasting a double shower with dual drencher heads and elegant marbled walls, adds a touch of luxury, providing a soothing retreat after a day of exploration.

Outside, a spacious patio area awaits, featuring your very own picnic table—an ideal spot to savour a glass of something chilled on warm summer evenings while marvelling at the ever-changing sunsets over the Cardigan Bay.

What is the cancellation policy?

It may be necessary to cancel your holiday due to illness, accident or change of circumstances. Please note that if you have made a newspaper promotional booking and you choose to cancel your holiday no refund will be made.

As soon as you know you need to cancel, call the park directly or confirm the cancellation in writing to Bookings Department, Lyons Holiday Parks Head Office, Coast Road, Rhyl, LL18 3UU. The letter must be signed by the person who made the booking (lead guest). Cancellation charges are calculated as follows from the date your written instructions are received.

If you have not arrived by 9am on the morning after your holiday was due to commence or contacted the Park concerned to confirm when you will arrive, except in exceptional circumstances, we will assume that the break is cancelled and the total holiday cost will be charged.

Complimentary parking is available for all guests at our holiday parks. While some caravans and lodges have designated parking directly outside, this is not always guaranteed. Nevertheless, ample parking bays are conveniently located throughout our parks, ensuring a short and easy walk to your accommodation.

Check in time is between 2-4 pm and is dependent on what accommodation you have booked. Early check in is available for an extra fee of £20 when you  call the park directly. You can find your parks direct number on the contact us page.

Depending on which luxury holiday cottage you choose you’ll be required to pay a good housekeeping bond. The Farmhouse at Tyddyn Goronwy requires a £100 good housekeeping bond, The Barn requires a £350 good housekeeping bond and the Woodlands Retreat requires a £450 deposit.


Yes, Dogs are permitted at some of our cottages but depending on each cottage there are certain restrictions. 

At Woodlands Retreat, Sisial Y Mor and Cornel Glyd, you’re allowed up to two well behaved dogs. At The Barn, you’re also allowed dogs but they must be kept out of the bedrooms. 

The Farmhouse at Tyddyn Goronwy unfortunately does not permit dogs in the property. 

A group of Zebras is called a Dazzle, and ZeZe certainly Dazzles with her hip dance moves and rocking smusic taste

The latest member of the Beach Buddies is ZeZe! After Leo, Milo and Hetty enjoyed the delights of Mombasa Beach and the Chalbi desert on their backpacking trip through Kenya, they made a friend in ZeZe, the sassy, rockin’ and dazzling Zebra. ZeZe has a natural flair for playing any instrument available to her and she loves writing songs for her friends. Much to the delight of Hetty who loves a boogie.

Milo loves to tell jokes… “Why did the monkey take its banana to the doctors? It wasn’t peeling good.”

A cheeky-chappie who loves to joke, Milo is enthusiastic about EVERYTHING! You will often see Milo bounding around park, full of energy. Milo absolutely loves all things bananas; Banana bread, banana
cookies, banana milk! Milo’s favourite dance move is the “banana split!”, letting his creativity shine when he’s rapping and dancing, Milo loves joining Hetty in making up new, cool moves. The laughter never stops when Milo is around with his funny jokes, friendly pranks and infectious chuckle! Milo’s good-nature and zest for
life, means you just want to be around him all the time.

Cool and smart, Leo is definitely, the “mane” man!

Full of energy, Leo is a probably the coolest guy you’ll ever meet and he loves making new friends! You will often find Leo socialising with all his friends and hosting the best parties. Keeping active is Leo’s favourite way to spend his time! Leo will try any sport or activity from playing basketball and football to archery, becoming a master of them all! Smart, logical and grounded, Leo leads his Buddies, always thinking of games and exciting activities. You can’t help but smile when Leo is around.

Hetty always says, “I’m gonna hippo-pot-a-miss you!” When it's time to say goodbye

The quietest of all her friends with a big imagination, Hetty always has the most fantastical, creative ideas and believes that all dreams can come true! Hetty can often be found dancing around park and making up new moves with Milo for her friends to join in all her dances. Hetty loves all things colourful and covered in sparkles, her favourite colour is pink… all shades of pink! Baby pink, bubble-gum pink, flamingo… She loves them all! Kind-hearted and loveable, Hetty loves to meet new friends and giving them all a big hippo hug. You can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy when you meet Hetty.
