Fall in love with Barmouth
Welcome to the place where the mountains meet the sea. Where the monolithic mountains of Snowdonia form the picturesque backdrop of the illustrious Cardigan Bay. Welcome to Barmouth.
The generous slither of shingle-infused sandy coast line runs for miles and is never full. Barmouth is the perfect place for any budding photographer too. With the quaint Victorian seaside houses along the coast, the Grade II listed Barmouth viaduct along the Afon Mawddach and the spectacular yachts that visit frequently, there is always a photo opportunity on hand.
The secluded town of Barmouth or Abermaw in Welsh, has a tiny population of just 1,988. But there is plenty going on for tourists during the peak season especially. The Three Peaks Yacht Race starts here in June and the famous Barmouth Food Festival occurs in July where you can savour the local delicacies of Wales and the freshest catches from the Cardigan Bay.

Become part of the pride
Way back in 1924, Joe William Lyons founded the first of many Lyons Holiday Parks. Ever since, we’ve gone from strength to strength delivering the best in British holidaymaking to thousands each year across North Wales and the Lake District.
Our ownership community is now over 4000 members strong and continues to grow each year. When you become an owner at Lyons, you become part of our family. That family feel at Lyons park is the reason people choose us, and we work really hard to maintain those family values throughout the company.
When we say we’re like a big family here, we truly mean it. Because despite us growing in size to over 20 resorts now, we’re still family owned, with the great grandsons of founder Joe Lyons; Geoff & Joseph Lyons-Mound, now at the helm.
All families have a place they can call home, and that’s what we aim to provide at our parks. A place you can call your second home, to make cherished memories with your nearest and dearest while forming friendships that will last a life time.

A walkers dream...
Barmouth is the perfect place for those who enjoy beautiful walks in abundance. And even better for those who love to take a photo while they’re at it.
With Snowdonia on it’s doorstep, the area naturally attracts hikers. Cadair Idris and the Rhinogs are all within reach of the town, offering awe inspiring scenery for even the seasoned of hikers.
If you’re wanting a little bit less intensive walking nearer the coast, then there is plenty available too. But if uphill really isn’t your thing then many like to take a walk over the famous Grade II listed; Barmouth Bridge.
A place of inspiration...
Barmouth is a place that everyone loves. There is something uniquely charming about this tiny Victorian town centre, perched between the celestial beauty of Cardigan Bay and the dramatic views of Snowdonia. It’s no wonder that Barmouth was listed as one of the best places to live in the Sunday Times’ Best Places to Live Guide 2023.
But it’s not just the Sunday times that have marvelled at Barmouth’s beauty. The famous British composer William Wordsworth and Poet; John Ruskin both commented on the beauty of Barmouth. And it was also pleasantly mentioned in the novel Austerlitz by German author; Max Sebald who frequented the town.
“Only one other journey in the world had views to compare with the one from Dolgellau to Barmouth, and that was the journey from Barmouth to Dolgellau” – John Ruskin
